Our Sunday School quarter has lessons on Christians honoring God. Immediately, the things that comes to mind is honoring God with our holy life, our pure speaking, our blameless living and with our tithes and offerings. All of these are right and necessary to honor God.
But have you ever thought of honoring the only true and living, almighty God by accepting His decisions in our lives? That can be a hard one when we already have plans for our lives and we work toward them. But because He made us, saved us by the blood of Jesus and called us with His holy calling He has the right to plan our lives for His glory and honor. The scriptures say, "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? " (I Corinthians 6:19).
The scriptures also say, " For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. " (I Corinthians 6:20).
Considering the scripture before us, isn't it only right that God,who made us, saved us, cleansed us, keeps us, provides for us and more, can tell us what His plans for our lives are and we bow to His will? The answer is yes. The hard part is doing it. Pray this week and throughout this season and into the new year that you may be able to humbly accept His will, especially when it is different from our own plans. His plans for our lives glorify Him, edify the saints, and draw us nearer to Him.
So, we honor Him daily when we accept His will for our lives. The world can see it and some may turn to Him, too.
