A few years ago during a Bible study discussion, I made a comment about actively pursuing GOD. I didn’t make that statement to imply that God is running away from us, and that we must chase HIM…No, No, No! Absolutely not! He would never leave us or forsake us. He’s a VERY present God.

I believe as children of God, who are actively pursuing God, we should be living our lives in such a way that our hearts are postured with a desire to please, glorify and honor Our Heavenly Father, therefore, having a good effect for His Kingdom. It is because of Him that we live, move, and have our being, so we should be living a life that pleases Him.
It means having a nevertheless, just as Jesus did when he was obedient, even unto the cross; not my will, but may my Heavenly Father’s will be done.
Active is defined as doing something, engaging or taking steps.
Pursuing is defined as going after someone, or something, following, running after, chasing, tracing, shadowing or following someone or something.
In the context of my statement, it means engaging in and taking steps to go after, follow, trace, shadow and chase those things that please God.
To actively pursue God sometimes requires us to have a NEVERTHELESS!…(Help JESUS. )
We don’t always want to love those we deem hard to love, NEVERTHELESS… (Matt 5:44 NKJV)
We don’t always want to be cheerful, NEVERTHELESS… (2 Cor 9:7)
We don’t always want to show compassion, NEVERTHELESS… (Eph 4:32)
We don’t always want to think about those things that are pure, good, and noble, NEVERTHELESS… (Phil 4:8-9)
We don’t always want to trust God to make it right, NEVERTHELESS… (Rom 8:28)
We don’t always want to do justly, show mercy, and walk humbly before our God, NEVERTHELESS… (Micah 6:8)
We don’t always want to be faithful, NEVERTHELESS… (Matt 25:21)
We don’t always to be kind and forgiving, NEVERTHELESS… (Col 3:12-14 NKJV)
We don’t always want to take the narrow road, NEVERTHELESS… (Matt 7:13-14)
We don’t always want to live a life of faith, NEVERTHELESS…(Hebrews 11:6)
We don’t always want to love, NEVERTHELESS… (1Cor 13:4-8)
The list could continue on and on… however, to “actively pursue” God and His Will, we need to “Radaph”, God‘s Will. Radaph is the Hebrew word for pursue. Radaph means to chase, run after, follow, hunt down, often with intense, urgent, or hostile intent. It signifies an active persistent pursuit (like a hunter) rather than passive following, and can mean to passionately seek after something or someone. A fine example would be passionately seeking to please Our Heavenly Father and Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Loudly living out the love of Jesus Christ, our Kinsmen-Redeemer (fit, willing and able.)
Father God let me, let us, have a desire to live, look and love more like Jesus Christ and help us to be in a perpetual state of actively pursuing you. As the Nike slogan goes: Just Do It!
